Presets |
Presets allow you to store and recall a Baking Setup.
Presets can be saved manually, added via Environment Variables (e.g. to have access to each others baker settings in a team) or
may be added automatically by the Substance Baker Bridge.
Presets are usually saved into your Mari User Directory in a Subfolder SAT_Baker_Presets
- Automatically added Presets
The Substance Baker Bridge automatically maintains two presets:
- Last Used (Current Project)
This preset always contains the last settings and bakers that were used to bake in the currently open Mari Project.
It includes your selection of Mari Objects and High Definition Objects.
The preset is stored within your mari project directory.
If you have not yet baked in the currently open project, it does not exist.
- Last Used (Any Project)
This preset always contains the last settings that were used to bake in any project.
Meaning if you bake in Project A and then open Project B, selecting this preset will restore the settings used
in Project A.
The Preset is non-project specific, meaning only sliders, values and bakers but no object selections are stored.
The Preset is saved into your Mari User Directory in a Subfolder SAT_Baker_Presets
- User Added Presets
User added Presets can be used to quickly store a Bake Configuration.
Bake configurations are non-project specific, meaning only sliders, values and bakers but no object selections are stored.
The Preset is saved into your Mari User Directory in a Subfolder SAT_Baker_Presets
- Pipeline Presets via Environment Variable
Pipeline Presets are presets that have been added on Mari Startup via the Environment Variable
- MARI_EP_SUBSTANCE_BAKER_PRESET_FOLDER
Pipeline Presets are prefixed with [Pipeline] and cannot be deleted, overwritten or renamed with the Preset Tools.
Newly created presets can be easily converted to pipeline presets by going to the location of locally stored presets ()
and copy pasting the newly saved preset file into the Folder specified by the Environment Variable
- Default Pipeline Presets
To specify a Pipeline default Preset that the Baker Bridge should open with, setup the Environment Variable
- MARI_EP_SUBSTANCE_BAKER_PREFERRED_PRESET
.. with a name of a Preset found in the Folder specified by the MARI_EP_SUBSTANCE_BAKER_PRESET_FOLDER Environment Variable.
For example if within the Preset folder a file "default.json" exists, setup the environment Variable as
- MARI_EP_SUBSTANCE_BAKER_PREFERRED_PRESET="default"
A alternative way, without using Environment Variables is to place a text file called "PreferredPreset.txt" inside the Pipeline Preset Folder.
Define the name of the preset to load (e.g. "default") directly within the text file.
Example of a "PreferredPreset.txt" file pointing to a Pipeline Preset.

While you can specify a Default Pipeline Template, the user at any time has the choice to set another preset as the default startup preset, by pressing the "Pin" button next to the preset dropdown.
|
- Save Preset
Save a new preset. The new preset name needs to be unique
- Delete Preset
Delete the currently selected Preset. Only User created Presets can be deleted.
- Update current Preset with new Settings
Update the currently selected preset with your currently active Baker Settings. Only User created Presets can be updated.
- Rename Preset
Change the name of the currently selected preset. Only User created Presets can be renamed.
- Set Preset as default Preset
Clicking on the 'Pin' Icon will mark the currently selected preset as the default Preset to load when the Bridge is opened.
By default the Bridge will start with no Preset loaded. This allows you to for example set the 'Last Used' Preset as the default
one in order to always start the Bridge with the last used settings pre configured.
To remove the currently active default Preset, choose the first empty row of the Dropdown and set that as a default.
- Open Preset Save Location
Open the location where presets are stored. Usually in your Mari User Directory in a Subfolder SAT_Baker_Presets
